My, what a lovely picture from France around 1910. Our thanks and credits to the photographer! It seems that our favorite plant has been popular for a long, long time. Thousands of years to be exact.
We’re pleased that a vast majority of the people in our country are starting to see the benefits of both recreational and medicinal cannabis, and the good it has brought in the way of health benefits as well as the economic booms some areas of the country are seeing. It’s been a long time coming that’s for sure. But sadly we’re not there yet, which is the subject of this conversation.
Federal Cannabis Laws
Federally, marijuana is still a Schedule 1 drug, listed with heroin (yeah right) as highly addictive and of no medicinal use. Well, we all know that is false as we’re seeing the industry explode right now producing CBD from hemp. But, regardless of the forward momentum, until marijuana is declassified it is still technically illegal even in states that have legalized both recreational and medicinal use. You may be asking why I’m telling you all this. Well, for one reason. Selfishness!
Retail Owners & Policies
As a retail store owner selling equipment that can be described as being used to grow marijuana we are under special scrutiny from both our federal government and the local police as well. Any instruction on our part to you the customer about how to grow marijuana is considered illegal under the RICO Act, which basically means that they can seize our business, our finances, our home, and anything else they seem fit to impound, all because we instructed someone on how to grow pot!
So the message here is, please don’t talk about pot in the store! We talk about growing the plants, the roots, and how to become Mother Nature in the comfort of your own home! Thanks for understanding!
